Abstract from Eliza McIntosh

Extension work is usually targeted at a small number of self selecting students either through extension Physics classes or by attendance at academically selective events and summer schools run by universities. Can a mixed ability class at A2 level be motivated and benefit by the use of resources  and methods more commonly used to stimulate interest in Physics and further develop analytical and problem solving skills of selected students at the end of their AS year? Does this work also impact on the proportion of students achieving A* grade at A2 level?
