Digital Learning Research

This week, Rick Cross, Director of Digital Learning, explains the school’s approach to the latest trends in digital education.

The Digital Learning vision at The Perse is summed up by our 3E philosophy; Effective, Engaging and Evolving. At the heart of everything we do is the aim to provide the best learning experiences for our students. Linked to this we encourage research amongst our staff body, and the school has recently funded a number of staff research places looking at effective use of tablets.

Staff have been looking at innovative ways to use tablets to either enhance student engagement, teacher training, or improve the efficiency of school systems. Examples of projects include creating interactive textbooks using iBook or Book Creator, exploring how to share resources in departments via Kindle or Twitter, Flipped classroom approaches, videoing experiments and Maths solutions and posting to the VLE (Schoology) and many more. Staff will be sharing their research with colleagues at twilight training sessions later in the school year.
