Matthew Hawksworth is Theatre Director in Residence and Teacher of Drama at the Upper School. In 2018, year 10 pupils viewed a NT Live broadcast of the Royal Shakespeare Company performing Macbeth. Matthew conducted a research project to evaluate the impact and effect of recorded theatre performances on teaching and pupil perceptions of the experience.

The content is at the heart of their appreciation of a performance, but this new form is allowing them the chance (and also their teachers) to reflect on how we observe theatre and all the possibilities this brings.”
