Emma Calvert joined The Perse Upper School in 2018. As part of her work in the Biology department, she is investigating a new method for delivering feedback to pupils. Using a small group of year 7 volunteers, she will be using online videos to deliver feedback and start a dialogue with pupils about marking.
“The time spent on marking work is often disproportionate to the value students place on the feedback given. I am interested in exploring video feedback as an alternative to traditional written feedback to assess whether students engage more fully with it and to find out if it encourages them to take greater ownership of their own learning and progress.”
