Tom Fowler joined The Perse Upper School in 2016 as Teacher of Chemistry. He has chosen to research how flipped learning strategies can be applied to Chemistry lessons for sixth form pupils.
“Sometimes the pace within my lower 6th chemistry lessons can feel a bit slow because of the need to deliver knowledge and information to pupils before they can attempt problems. This can feel a little boring and it can mean pupils don’t have as much time to practice skills. I want to see whether flipping learning can free up time in lessons for more assessment for learning and targeted support, and how this will impact upon student enjoyment of lessons.”
