The Importance of Positive Relationships in the Classroom

Staff Bennett DDavid Bennett joined The Perse Upper School in 2016.  In 2018, he begins his MEd at the University of Cambridge.  David will be investigating the importance of positive teacher-pupil relationships in a case study of year 7 Latin lessons.  David explains more:

“It is well acknowledged in research literature that teacher-student relationships are of considerable importance for pupil progress and well-being. Much of the research has concentrated on what teacher behaviours promote positive relationships and what the impact is of positive or negative relationships. I want to gain a clearer understanding of how students experience, perceive and articulate teacher-student relationships. I am hoping that gaining a better understanding of how students think about these relationships will ultimately allow me to be more successful in effectively managing these relationships.”
